Students: Removing Auto-Enrolled Canvas Organization Sites from your Dashboard

To help provide resources to students at Florida State University all students are automatically enrolled into select Canvas Organizations, such as Canvas Student Orientation Course and FSU Libraries for Students. These organization sites and other organization sites you may have been enrolled in provide important resources that can help you throughout your time here at Florida State University.

That being said, as your Canvas Dashboard fills up it may become necessary to have certain organization sites that you interact with infrequently become less prominent. This can be done by adjusting how your organization sites display for you on Canvas.

To remove an organization site from your Dashboard view, follow these instructions:

  1. On the global navigation menu, select Courses > select All Courses from the menu that appears.
  2. The first group of Canvas sites listed (both organizations and courses) on your "All Courses" page are currently active. To update your Dashboard view, simply click the star icon next to any course you would like to appear on your Dashboard. This will turn the star orange.
  3. When you return to your Dashboard, only the courses you have starred (those with orange stars next to them) will be visible.

You can always reset your Dashboard view by going back into All Courses and unstarring all courses (make sure there are no orange stars visible). This will return the Dashboard view to the default setting of displaying all active courses and organization sites in which you are enrolled.
