New Quizzes is Canvas's new assessment engine which will eventually replace "Classic" Quizzes. On October 26, 2022, Instructure, which is Canvas' parent company, decided to eliminate the June 2024 transition deadline. With this change, FSU faculty now have more flexibility to use and assess features according to their own schedules. Classic Quizzes will eventually be retired, but Instructure will not set a retirement date until the majority of Canvas users have voluntarily switched.
New Quizzes is currently available in all FSU Canvas courses and development sites. Instructors are encouraged to test the tool in a development site, as time allows, in order to explore the available features. Instructors also have the option to use New Quizzes in live course sites based on their comfort level.
Assistance is available!
